Fleur de sel must be harvested every day from the water’s surface to give it its distinctive and delicate texture. The flower of salt is then sent to packaging. As a result, the finished product is identical to what the salt harvester (or “paludier”) originally produced.
The flavour and melt-in-your-mouth texture of Fleur de sel are exquisite. It is best to add it as a garnish and not during the cooking process to preserve its delicate taste.
Natural, using no additives and loaded with minerals (magnesium, calcium, potassium, and trace elements), this Guérande salt has a great flavour without bitterness. Due to its harvesting on a clay background, its crystals are grey, friable, wet, and perfectly assimilable.
The Guerande salt’s thousand-year-old tradition continues to be carried out in the south of Brittany by Tradysel. They carry on this heritage by producing pure Guérande salt while ensuring the preservation of the location and this unique, natural product.
The Tradysel Celtic Guérande salt is entirely handmade, harvested each summer day on real salt marshes that have been preserved in their natural condition by generations of salt marsh workers (Paludiers). The harvesting ponds serve as the hub of a circuit where salt is concentrated as seawater slowly evaporates.
