These pink onions are imported directly from France to the UK and can be enjoyed raw or cooked.
Roscoff onions are AOC certified, which is a word used in food labelling to preserve a product’s style, ingredients, and provenance. They are grown in Roscoff, a small town on the coast of Brittany.
Roscoff onions were brought to France in the 17th century and are known for their unique taste, beautiful pink/copper colour and long shelf-life, as well as being a rich source of vitamin C. Roscoff onions are also one of the few varieties of onions that don’t make you cry!
We recommend cooking these pink onions in butter with some thyme as a mouth-watering side dish, or finely slicing and adding raw to a salad.
