Le Pere Eugene is made by a company called Le Grand Lejon, who is based on the beautiful Brittany coast in a port called Binic.
Saffron lends a lot of flavour and colour to a rouille sauce, which is spicy and garlicky. Rouille is delicious with cold steamed shrimp and any fried fish or seafood, as well as chargrilled fish like swordfish, sturgeon, or sea bass. The most renowned rouille combination is with bouillabaisse, a popular French seafood soup; put a little bit over toasted bread and serve on top of the stew, but is also great with fish soup or lobster bisque.
