This fromage blanc (similar to fromage frais) is a fresh, creamy cheese made from French cow’s milk. This traditional French delicacy is known for its soft texture, tangy taste, and deliciously milky flavour. Unlike yogurt, fromage blanc meaning white cheese is a thicker product due to the straining process, making it perfect for both sweet and savoury dishes.

It’s enjoyed on its own with honey, fruit and nuts or salt and pepper, it can also be used in recipes for sauces as an alternative for cream, or as a topping. Often referred to as “faisselle” when sold in its draining basket, this cheese retains its rich, fresh characteristics. Other famous fromage frais are cottage cheese, ricotta, mascarpone and feta.
