Comté is more than just a cheese: it’s an icon. This semi-hard, raw-milk Alpine cheese from French producer Entremont is made from the milk of local Montbéliarde and Simmental cows. It’s matured for 120 days to achieve a rounded and satisfying flavour. Comté is nutty, savoury and subtly sweet all at once.
You can enjoy this cheese just as it is, perhaps with a few grapes, and ideally at room temperature. It also adds a special note to pasta dishes, and of course it’s a key ingredient in fondue. In a sandwich, Comté is a natural match for strong and distinctive flavours such as smoked ham and cornichons.
Weighing 200g, this block of Comté cheese is suitable for freezing.
